A native to Puyallup Washington Butler was interested in the arts when she was growing as a child. She participated in choirs, competed in singing contests, and appeared in both schools and the local theater. Then she moved in Los Angeles and studied theatre at the University of Southern California. For a year and an half, she portrayed Belle the Princess in Beauty and the Beast. Butler began shooting The Stranger Within with Estella and William Baldwin, the psychological thriller in Mallorca, beginning in November of 2011.
