Gray's peers encouraged her to take up social media. The app has seen her achieve better success using the platform that her colleagues. Her success was so great on the app that her mum was able to download it in order to keep an eye on her. Loren's popularity on musical.ly expanded to other social networks. Some people began reacting to her videos and making collections of her musical.ly videos available on YouTube. Gray became a cult figure and not everyone of her peers were impressed. Actually, some of them turned against Gray, rather than embracing her. A few of her friends began making fun of her and even deleted their accounts. Loren's mother was worried about her emotional well-being, and decided to exile Loren from the school.
